PRAYER & BIBLE BAND
The Prayer & Bible Band is a function of our church that was started in the early 1900’s by women in the ministry during the infancy stage of the Church Of God In Christ’s inception. This aspect of our ministry is a time when the saints of God assemble together corporately to seek the face of God, in prayer, and delve into the holy word of God to gain depths of understanding.
God’s word reveals that “wisdom is the principal thing” for which we should “incline our ears” and the Lord has directed that we should, “cry after knowledge and lift up our voice for understanding.” Jesus, Himself, has spoken and said, “ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you” (St. Luke 11:9). Therefore, we give ourselves, wholeheartedly, to apply our hearts to seek God and grow in the knowledge of His counsel.
How wonderful it is for the people of God to choose “the one thing that is needful”, as Mary who chose “that good part that shall not be taken away from her”, even to sit at the feet of Jesus and hear His word (St. Luke 10:39-43). It is our prayer that the Lord, Who is the Shepherd of His flock, stirs up a mighty hunger and thirst for more of His word in the souls of men and women everywhere; that they may enter into His courts and be satisfied with spiritual meat.
Come and fellowship with us from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. each Tuesday. All are welcome to share in this time of enlightenment wherein we may yield ourselves to the moving of the Holy Ghost, who brings forth revelation and insight into biblical truth!
